Who
can play
Dawn to Dusk is open to everyone.
Participants who are not Microsoft
employees (including MS contractors and
vendors) must sign and bring a hardcopy
of the
waiver form to the
registration table on the day of the
event.
Registration:
-
Teams for
flag football, softball or soccer
team
must have at least 10 players
with a minimum donation
of
$250.
-
Teams for basketball we
will accept registration for teams of 3
(plus
1 alternate) for a minimum of
$50
donation.
-
Please note we are happy to
sponsor basketball as a new
event this year. Teams
registering for the 3-on-3
basketball tournament only will
not be able to participate in
the other events (i.e. flag
football, soccer, or softball)
without the minimum donation for
both.
-
Individuals
(also known as free-agents) can sign up for a minimum
$30
donation. Free-agents will be
assigned to a team before the day of the
event based on their sport preference
and skill level.
Donations: Anyone including
registered players
can make
additional donations from pledge or
registration
sheets.
Match!: The team captain is responsible
for turning in all MS-matching forms for
donations and registration from MS employees. FTE's
can find more
details on the MS matching program
located on
http://give.
Boeing employees can submit match using
policies distributed by Boeing HR.
You
will receive a free t-shirt for
participating in the event and also be
entered in one of our many raffles to
win some of our cool prizes!
Game Format
Both
the softball and soccer games will be
one continuous game between 2 teams.
Teams will play in 1.5 hour shifts. We
will use staggered team substitution so
each team team will play against 2 other
teams for 45 minutes each. For
example: Team A starts at 1:00 pm
against Team B. At 1:45 pm, Team A will
exit the field and Team B will begin
playing Team C. At 2:30 pm, Team B will
exit and Team C will begin playing Team
D, so forth.
Event Day Details
The
event day is
Saturday,
July 12, 2008.
The venue is the
Microsoft ball
field located right off
of 156th Ave on the main campus. We
will be getting started around
7am.
Everyone on your team should arrive no
less than 30 minutes before your team's
playing time. The team captains will
receive the complete day's schedule a
week before the event. Each captain
must check in at the registration table,
where we'll confirm that any
non-fulltime MS employees on your team
have signed a liability waiver. The team
captains should also drop off the pledge
sheets and money collected from team
members at the registration table.
Food
and drinks will be provided free of
charge to paid
participants only.
COME READY TO PLAY, RAIN OR SHINE
We'll
play through rain, as long as the field
isn't dangerous. But no matter the
weather, come on out, don't assume we're
not playing. We'll have facilities
personnel and power equipment at the
field all day, so we'll be able to play
through just about anything. And this is
Seattle, so no matter how much its
raining at your house, it might be just
fine here.
